[ Kaveh breathes a sigh— half of disappointment, half of relief— as Alhaitham withdraws his fingers, and he nods in response to the other's question: he's sure, even if he's not.

And then Alhaitham says that Kaveh drives him crazy, and color runs up the blonde's cheeks to match the other man's, and he bites his lip as he reaches up to brush silver strands back from that tender expression. ]

For the record, you drive me crazy too. [ His hand slips to the back of Alhaitham's neck, pulls him down so that Kaveh's lips may anchor softly against them, and this time his sigh is pure contentment. ] Have for years.

[Alhaitham scoffs, unable to stop himself.] Just "for the record", [he taunts, using his lips to stencil his name on Kaveh's, as though he memorizes the texture of them through his own.

All of this had led them to entangle so closely together, two sides of a helix spiralling around one another, and only occasionally touching. The strands of their lives are woven to get together and set themselves apart, and Alhaitham doesn't know what happens after this, after what was just a drunken complaint, a tipsy riling up. Yet, he wants to follow through, take the risk, even if his mind can't come up with actual outcomes and connections to their possible future. And yet, he wants to see the flush on Kaveh's cheeks deepen. Have him whisper out his name just a little more.

Shifting slightly, he tugs Kaveh's hip closer, makes his leg fold and wrap around him as he lines himself up. All the while, he's pressing kisses to his mouth, his chin, his cheek.] It's best if you determine the pace. Can you move like this?

[ He rolls his eyes. Even like this, Alhaitham has to be impossible with him, has to taunt him with his own words even as their mouths are pressed together. But he's quickly distracted from his irritation, not only by the way the other tugs him closer, pressing kisses over his face as he lines himself up and asks him to set the pace for the both of them, but also— more— by the thoughtful, pensive look on the other's face. ]

I can— [ he breathes, and both of his hands find the sides of Alhaitham's face, pulling him firmly back so that their eyes can meet, his own alight with the warmth of his affection, ] —but I won't until you get out of your own head and stop thinking so much.

[ He pulls him back closer, presses a soft, sweet kiss to his lips. ]

I love you. I want to be with you. Not just for now, but for later too. It's that simple. Let it be simple, `haitham.

[ He's making a guess, but right now, there's really only one thing that could be interrupting Alhaitham that seriously. ]

[Alhaitham forgets to breathe and he feels dizzy.

His mind can't latch onto anything but the cradle of Kaveh's hands, the sweetness of his gaze. All of his hypotheses, winning and losing arguments, connections and tethers alike, break apart, escape like smoke through his proverbial fingers. He doesn't need Kaveh to tell him he loves him, he's known all this time. Tried to nurture the feeling instead of crushing it beneath his own rationality, and yet—

'Let it be simple,' Kaveh says. He allows himself to ease, to burrow his face against one of those hands, a sigh making the tension in him flee his body like a ghost, planted on Kaveh's wrist by Alhaitham's lips. His eyes close, and he shivers. He hates being perceived. It's a hassle, attention gives him nothing and is too fickle, too chaotic, too superficial. And yet, with Kaveh, he's seen and he doesn't feel like escaping.

He's home, after all.

He dips lower, his body weighing further, and he holds Kaveh tight again, arms wrapped around his torso, around his waist, kisses him hard, forgetting about alignments, about oils, about the complications of this act that make it all the more intricate. Until all he gets is the feeling of their bodies together, the warmth of the air they create between them, their legs tangled and hooked, their mouths no longer tasting like wine but each other and the copper lingering on their bruised lips.

With this, their lengths trapped between their bodies instead, only makes Alhaitham roll his hips just an increment to feel the pressure, and yet gasp for air as he shivers and stops himself.] I can't last long like this.

Each desperate movement of the other's lips is met in kind, and in the same way that has had them going around in circles for years, Kaveh follows Alhaitham, who in turn follows along after him.

In the moments after, Kaveh's eyes flutter half-closed, breathing in the scents left all over the room— their sweat, the last remnants of the wine on their breaths, the heady musk of sex still clinging to their bodies— and he hums his content, gratefully accepting at the same time the way Alhaitham tucks him in closer, pulls the blanket over the both of them. ]

He almost starts shaking his head, but instead, he settles back with his eyes closed, knuckles brushing along the line of the architect's bicep.] Hm? I don't think I heard you.

[ Under any other circumstances, Kaveh would probably be annoyed, maybe get in Alhaitham's face and complain audibly about the request to speak his praise over again. But with how content he is right now, he can only find it in him to smile, to nuzzle his face into the hollow between the other's neck and his shoulder, pressing soft kisses into the skin. ]

I said you're amazing.

[ He pulls back just enough that he can peer up at him with gleaming red eyes. ]

[He's waiting for a harrumph, for a slight impatient tremble, and Kaveh's hackles slightly raised. He's waiting for a nip, a roll of his eyes, a huff, a slap on his shoulders to tell him he's terrible.

He gets none of that. The genius of this man still manages to surprise him. He tells him he's amazing, and Alhaitham does nothing, thinks nothing, except blink, for half a moment (0.0345 seconds, to be exact) as he peers at the stars peeking through that red canopy and he leans in to steal a kiss from him. But not without ordering a 'shush', his eyebrows slanting into a frown. He doesn't want to hear it again.]

[ Kaveh can't help but chuckle into that stolen kiss, fingers contentedly tracing their way over Alhaitham's shoulders, the tops of those muscled arms, the slim line of his strong neck. There may be a hint of a frown on the other's face, but he can't quite help the way he murmurs it again, complete with the gentlest of teasing nips against his lower lip: ]

Really. You're amazing. I'm not just saying it to inflate your ego.

[ He lets one hand stroke down over the other's spine, following the path of the bone and dipping into the small of his back before moving lower to trace idle patterns into the soft, modest swell of his ass. ]

[He kisses the corner of his mouth.] You can get carried away with me.

[ Alhaitham speaks, and Kaveh shakes his head, a soft and helpless laugh on his lips as he purses them against that soft kiss, a protest even as he accepts the movement and twines his own legs in return, half-seated against the other despite the fact that they're lying tangled together. ]

Don't say that. [ The words come as a whisper, followed by a soft nip of his teeth against Alhaitham's lower lip. ] Because I want to—

[ How is it, he wonders, that he's still practically aching with need despite the afterglow still settling heavy in his veins? His nerve endings are sensitive and sore, but he wants more. ]

[Reciprocating with a nip of his own on Kaveh's upper lip, Alhaitham sighs and brushes Kaveh's hair away from his face.] So? I don't see why you shouldn't.

Soft caresses as he leans in for another kiss, though he frowns a bit, revealing that he indeed, is not that experienced in this and therefore should refer to the one person who is.] Isn't it normal?

[ Kaveh chuckles, although it's a tired, almost whiny sound. He can see the hesitation on Alhaitham's face though, and so his own expression softens as he reaches up to brush his fingers along the other's lips. ]

Aren't you sensitive? [ It's a soft murmur. ] It'll hurt if we get carried away so soon.

[ Not that he thinks he would mind, not really— but he doesn't think Alhaitham would enjoy it, somehow. He sighs, and nuzzles his nose into the other man's, his eyes closing. ]

[He closes his eyes, melting into the Architect, and if the pressing of their bodies together makes him wince as he cradles him close, then he doesn't flinch away, focusing instead on returning the motion of his nose, from one side to the other, then up and down with a low, rumbly hum.] I know. So he nods, and purses his lips into the other man's once more, pressing lazy kisses against his mouth as his hands drift over his chest. ]

[ Never mind that this is his bed. As far as he's concerned, he'll stay wrapped up like this forever if he can. ]

[Carding fingers through long threads and sighing as he kisses back, Alhaitham relaxes in his place on this bed that smells of Kaveh, fragrant and heady and home. His eyes close, softened by the slow to and fro of their lips, suckling on the thin flushed skin, taking a deep breath to nudge his chest further into Kaveh's touch. He tells him that he could keep him there as much as he'd like, but the problem is that Alhaitham is finding solace in the circle of their arms, the warmth of their bodies. He's still kissing, his voice low and raspy, as he smiles subtly.] That's a problem, I may want to stay here longer than you'd like.

[ Kaveh just chuckles, the sound sweet on his tongue. It's true that of the pair of them, Alhaitham is much more likely to lie around in bed for a longer time— and he'll almost certainly complain about it when it happens. But right now, the thought of being essentially trapped even past the point where he'd want to get up...

It's nice. More than nice. And later, when the tendrils of anxiety and disbelief undoubtedly creep in, he'll need to remember this, to hold onto Alhaitham's words.

For now, though, he continues to respond to those kisses, to enjoy the feeling of the other's muscles under his fingers, a gentle skimming brush of the tips over one nipple, and then the other. ]
