[ He sighs, kicking his legs over the edge of the bed. ]
Fine. Give me five minutes.
[ Since when was Alhaitham the earlybird? Kaveh gets out of bed and grabs some clothes to wear, taking probably a little longer than he should to put his hair up in a loose bunโhe's not leaving the house with bedhead.
When he emerges from the apartment block, he's wearing black pants and a white shirt, a long-lined green cardigan draped over the look. And...
[He is there, but he doesn't entirely blame Kaveh for not noticing him. Sitting astride an idling black motorcycle, he watches the other man exit the building and look around for him, pausing a moment to admire how cute he looks before he checks the next message.
A soft huff of amusement leaves him. He leans back slightly on his seat and gives the bike a short, sharp rev.
[ It turns out that Kaveh, upon leaving the building, did see Alhaithamโhe just didn't realize it was him. He noticed the motorcycle and its rider straight away, but never once assumed it could be his boyfriend.
Not until, at least, the bike seems to rev in answer to his text.
He looks up.
Frowns.
Takes a hesitant step forward.
...There's no way Alhaitham got a motorcycle, no matter how sexy the idea is in his mind. He's being ridiculous.
But... ]
...Is that seriously you or is some stranger revving a bike at me.
[His head tilts slightly as his phone buzzes again, then he rolls his eyes slightly behind the helmet's visor.
Alhaitham pockets the phone, then pulls the helmet off with both hands, shaking his hair out and setting the helmet between his thighs so he can push a hand through the slightly flattened strands.]
If they were, I might have something to say to it.
[ Kaveh's eyes widen even further, teeth pressing into his lower lip as he nods. ]
Yes? [ It sounds like a question, if only because Kaveh is so amazed by the whole experience. He's... a little overwhelmed, if anything. There's a giddiness to him, a sort of puppy love-level adoration.
His boyfriend is so cool; that's all he can think of right now. ]
[ Kaveh nods, following the instructionsโhe lifts the seat and pulls out the spare helmet. He has to loose his bun in the end before it will sit properly on his head, putting the ties and clips in his pocket so he can fix it when they get to wherever they're going.
Only then does he move to swing a leg over the bike, his arms around Alhaitham's waist. ]
[There's nothing particularly urgent about Alhaitham's voice when he arrives home one afternoon, calling out for his partner over the faint jingle of keys being tossed into a bowl beside the door.]
Are you home?
[Taking his shoes and jacket off, an entirely innocent-looking bag set down by his usual brown leather satchel...]
[ Kaveh is in the study, working (as usual) on a design related to the house they currently have under construction, when he hears first the door, and then Alhaitham's voice. It's with a smile that he emerges from the room, feet bare, paint smudged on one cheek and his hair tied back in a loose bun. He leans against the doorframe with one outstretched arm, his ring visibly glinting on his hand.
(It's been two months, and he's not done parading it around everywhere just yet, thank you very much.) ]
[It is cute. Alhaitham is not someone who ever imagined he would ask someone to marry him, nor that anyone would ever be so pleased with themselves that he asked, but he has no complaints about either.]
Productive. I may have a lead to something interesting, but we'll see how it pans out.
[He straightens up from taking his shoes off with a sigh and a small stretch, snagging the bag at his feet along the way, then steps over to kiss the other man gently.]
[ His brows raise in response to that as he watches Alhaitham stretching out, and maybe taking a little too much time to peek at the way the the other's shirt lifts just momentarily above his waistline, showing off slim, built muscle. ]
Tell me about it?
[ The curiosity is all too evident even as Alhaitham crosses the room to him, his head tilting up into that kiss, contented sigh on his lips. ]
Mm, I have been. I even made dinner. It's in the warmer.
There's a supposed lost city of scholars in the Summer segment. I'm curious about it, but I want to complete my research first.
[Because of course he does - Alhaitham is ever nothing but thorough in his academic pursuits. He smiles a little, looking down at Kaveh with faint but evident fondness.]
I brought something you might like to try.
[And maybe Kaveh won't notice, at first, how he's gently caged against the wall. How Alhaitham subtly leans into him. Maybe he won't notice until a knee nudges between his.]
[ Of course Kaveh is curious, but he also knows Alhaitham well enough to recognize he'll get nothing from him on the matter until he's good and readyโthat is, until his research is done.
So he smiles back, and he's prepared to elaborate on his day until his fiancรฉ mentions that he has something, making Kaveh's head tilt in curiosity. ]
[ Kaveh's eyes slide to the side as Alhaitham's arm braces against the wall, boxing him in even more than before. They linger there just a moment before lowering, realization creeping into his expressionโand into the color of his cheeksโas he notices finally the leg slid between both of his own.
He swallows hard, eyes lifting back to the other's face, impassive with secrecy. ]
[Alhaitham shifts just enough to allow Kaveh to slip away from him, if he decides to make a move.]
Unless you don't have the time.
[This is a joke, as far as jokes go - he knows damn well that Kaveh always has the time to spend in bed with him, especially when he is the one initiating it.]
[ He rolls his eyes as his arms circle Alhaitham's shoulders, leaning forward so he can bump his forehead against the other man's. It's true that he'll drop anything at a time when Alhaitham initiates, especially when it's a complete surprise like thisโwhich it usually is. ]
[Said entirely indulgently as he lowers his arm from the wall to wrap it around Kaveh's waist, guiding him away from the wall and towards their bedroom (since he seems fairly intent on lingering.
The bag he brought in with him is still swinging from his hand, brown paper and entirely nondescript.]
I will have to make sure to show the proper amount of gratitude.
[ Kaveh laughs, voice brighter than just a moment ago, but still edged with that tell-tale, playful sweetness.
(Admittedly, he hasn't even really noticed the bag, not with Alhaitham in his personal space, wrapping an arm around his waist to guide him into their bedroom.) ]
The proper amount of gratitude, huh? Does that mean you're not gonna leave me frustrated and begging this time?
[ It's definitely a taunt, because yes, Alhaitham often leaves him frustrated and begging, taking his time with him until Kaveh is a mess of trembling limbs and half-jumbled words... but yes, Kaveh likes it that way. ]
Or is this a "I'll say thank you three times" kind of deal?

More surprised you are. It's early.
[ Then, as he wakes up more, stretches out, realizes he's alone in their bed: ]
Where are you???

Shaking his head in amazement, the blonde rushes over, looking over the other man and the bike on which he sits. ]
I... wow. I. When did you get this? When did you learn to ride this?
[ If there's awe leeching into his voice, it's because he's genuinely amazed. (And perhaps a little turned on.) ]
no subject
I've been learning for a while. [And maybe the expectation of this reaction was part of it? He had a feeling it would be received well.]
And I bought the bike last week. Do you want to go for a ride?
